A number of attractive but disquieting work by French artist Diane Dal-pra (beforehand featured here). At the moment on show with Massimo de Carlo at Mostyn gallery in Wales, Dal-pra’s newest exhibition explores the duality of possessions and the way the objects we personal can each devour and luxury us. Whereas objects might present a way of reassurance, their permanence also can result in extra precarious attachments and superstitions. Dal-pra’s physique of labor focuses on our every day life rituals, relationships, obsessions, and sensations as our bodies seem enmeshed within the broader psychological ambiguity of the intimate roles sure objects play in our lives and imaginations.
