A pleasant collection from artist Madeline Rupard. Fortunately torn between East and West, Rupard was born in Utah and raised in Washington DC. She obtained her BFA from Brigham Younger College, MFA from Pratt Institute, and is presently based mostly out of Ridgewood, NY. A eager observer of the situations of our every day lives, her work explores dualities and juxtapositions in a method that feels each meditative and lighthearted. As she describes her strategy:
“I paint photos to wrestle contradictions between previous and current, the sacred and the mundane, the romantic and the realist. My work are additionally about flooring, ceilings, and skies, and the evocative potential of coloration. I’m very inquisitive about the way in which this world seems to be. One in all my biggest joys in life is driving my automotive down the freeway.”
“McDonald’s Psalms” is from Rupard’s ongoing comedian collection “On the Run Again.” See extra photographs under.
