With a record heat wave surging in California, one furry native discovered the scorching temperatures to be greater than he may bear ― so he took issues into his personal paws and located a pleasant yard pool to chill off in.
On Friday, police in Burbank responded to reviews of a bear sighting round 3:30 p.m. in a residential neighborhood. Officers discovered a bear chilling out in a whirlpool bathtub behind one of many hillside houses, CNN reports.
The ursine interloper was seen at a house some 10 miles north of Los Angeles, close to the Verdugo Mountains, in line with The Associated Press.
Shortly after the encounter, the bear ― who police say was “beating the warmth” ― climbed out of the water, “made his approach over the wall” and headed to a tree behind the house, police informed the AP.
Police monitored the incident alongside the Burbank Animal Shelter and the state Division of Fish and Wildlife, according to a news release from the Burbank Police Division.
Burbank police posted footage of the bear’s enjoyable second on Twitter. The clip has since been considered greater than 390,000 instances.
“Poor man. The scorching warmth is taking a toll on this poor fellow,” one Twitter person commented.
Another quipped: “Properly behaved. Simply wants a towel.”
“It’s simply attempting [to] cool off … think about carry[ing] round all that fur on a scorching LA day,” one other individual commented.
Burbank police have since issued a community alert for bear sightings. The division advises folks by no means to strategy or feed bears, and to lock up all rubbish and meals in order to not entice undesirable guests.
